ADULT TRAINING

 

Every registered adult scouter is required to have basic training classes completed within their first year of service to the scouting program.

 

Listed below are pre-training programs that are available for viewing.  These are not the class videos that are required to be considered a trained leader, but are informational videos available until you are able to attend training classes.  These are on CD ROMs and can be viewed during troop meetings with prior arrangement with the Advancement Chair.

Venture Crew videos are available if you are interested in joining the Venture Program in BSA.  Venture Crews can take part in more high adventure activities.

For Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters you will need to complete the following training classes:

Introduction to Outdoor Skills

Scoutmaster/Assistant Scoutmaster Specific

Youth Protection is required for every leader and needs to be renewed every two years.

 

Additional Training that is nice to have that is available:

 

Boy Scout Roundtable (provided monthly by the District)

Safe Swim Defense (Renew every two years)

Safety Afloat (Renewed every two years)

University of Scouting – Boy Scout Program (yearly at Council level)
